Southport Mark lodge no. 473 Installation
 
Tonight, Brethren, we welcome. Michael J. Pinckard to the lodge in his capacity of A.P.G.M.
Unfortunately, the W.M, W.Bro Mark Mathews, cannot be with us this evening, due to commitments in the Craft and Royal Arch.
 
But that is just an opportunity for our ever ready I.P.M, W.Bro. Derek Hedges, Pr.G.Stwd. (designate), who, as always, was only to pleased to assist the lodge again.
 
The Lodge was opened in due form, and the A.P.G.M was admitted by our Pr.G.D.C, Arthur Robinson, along with W.Bro. David Rigby, accompanied by a compliment of Acting Officers.
 
The Grand Officers, led by W.Bro. Maurice Myers Evans, the R.W. Prov. Grand Master’s Special Representative, who is an elder statesman of this Lodge. I Know he will appreciate that!

Salutations were the given to the A.P.G.M, V.W.Bro. Maurice, Grand and Provincial Grand Officers. W.Bro. Derek Hedges, then enquired if the Pr.G.S.W, W.Bro. Mark Barton, would assist him in occupying the S.Ws chair, which he was happy to oblige.
 
The S.W, Brother David Patrick Paton, was then presented by his father-in-law, W.Bro. Brian Povey, the Lodge Secretary. After the board of installed masters was opened, Derek then proceeded to obligate and install Bro. David, with the usual expertise we have come to expect. Well done Derek!
 
A ballot was carried out for the Advancement of two Brethren at our forthcoming November meeting. The ballot proved favourable. W.Bro David, W.M, then enquired if our A.P.G.M would like to present and explain the Grand Lodge certificates to Bro’s, Neil Harnick and James Scott, W.Bro. Mike, was only to pleased to assist.
 
There being no other business, the lodge was closed, and the members and guests repaired to the bar, ready for a well-earned supper.

An excellent picture and needing no further introduction, with beverages at the ready, and anticipating the excellent cuisine. As usual, chef Phil did not disappoint.
